SIP Trunk Setup and Options (IP Whitelisting)

The IP Whitelisting feature lets you send calls directly from your PBX, SBC, or server to PBXme without registering a SIP device — known as the Direct IP method. Recommended for anyone using a static public IP.

  • If only one account uses that IP, only the IP field is needed.
  • If multiple customers share the same IP, a Prefix or X-Header must be added to differentiate traffic.
  • A single account can also whitelist multiple IPs if its traffic may originate from multiple servers.

Fill in the form fields:

  • Name — a label for your reference (e.g., “Outgoing PBX”).
  • IP — the public IP of your server (e.g., 5.6.7.8). Use /32 for a single host.
  • Prefix (optional) — a short numeric code to differentiate traffic when multiple users share the same IP.
  • X-Header (optional) — a custom SIP header used for the same purpose (e.g., X-Header: ss44tt55).

5
  • You can whitelist several IPs for one account if calls come from different servers.
  • If an IP is already used by another account, you must define a unique Prefix or X-Header.
  • Once saved, calls from the whitelisted IP will be accepted automatically.
  • PBXme uses any Prefix or X-Header to identify which account each call belongs to.
